Obama’s Executive Power Push

By | Posted in Blog | Feb-13-2013

While often a pop-culture source, BuzzFeed has an interesting and somewhat-comical (if it wasn’t so serious) take on President Obama’s foreign policy and defense actions.  Titled “7 Things Democrats Would Have Freaked Out About If Bush Had Done Them”, the article hits the nail on the head.  Included on the list are “3. President Obama’s drones and special operators are working down “kill lists” of suspected terrorists” and “6. Obama promised to end the Bush-era torture interrogation practices. But last year the U.N. released three damning reports detailing torture in Afghan facilities under Obama’s security watch.”

The article is complete with animated GIFs.  While light on content, the article makes some pretty compelling points given its limited space.  Regardless of what you think of Obama and Bush’s stances, it’s unbelievable that there hasn’t been a huge liberal outcry over President Obama’s actions.  For a man who campaigned against President Bush’s decisions in these realms, it’s incredible how far beyond Bush he’s moved.  Click here to read the article.

One Response to “Obama’s Executive Power Push”

  1. Ian Hernandez Says:

Well, there was no conservative outcry over Bush’s abuses of executive power, either. The problem is that people are choosing to act in a provincial manner and put party politics over what’s really best for the country, and it has been a problem on both sides of the aisle.
