Well, it's looking more and more like President Obama will get another four years. In fact, it's looking like we may have the same general arrangement at the national level that we had for the last four years. Only billions of dollars and countless man hours later! Sadly, every election is another reminder to the average American that elections really aren't worth this much attention.
Of course, Americans should be very involved politically. They should speak out on political issues and talk and associate regularly with their neighbors. They should be strong participants in the polis. However, time spent in electoral politics is not well spent for most citizens. By all means get out and vote after studying the issues, but don't put your hopes or fears in the constantly-changing winds of electoral politics.
