Had Enough Yet?

The more political news Americans see, read and hear, the deeper the sense of frustration and anxiety – at least in some Americans. Integrity, the rule of law, and recognition of a higher authority are increasingly absent from the political landscape. One wonders how long the dissipation can continue before the American people stand up en masse and restore our founding principles. Or will we just slide irreversibly into a secular socialist society in which the federal government controls every aspect of our lives and becomes the final authority that determines our liberties?

Where will it end, and how should we respond as concerned citizens? When the American people say, “I’ve had enough!” perhaps a genuine grass roots effort will force a return to sane, constitutional government.

Have you had enough of…

  • A government that crams a “health care reform” bill down the throats of a citizenry that largely opposes it, by every possible tool of legislative chicanery?
  • Reckless deficit spending that places a huge debt upon future generations?
  • More and more regulations that affect our everyday lives such as what kind of toilets we can have, what kind of cars we can drive, and what kind of health insurance we must buy?
  • Congress passing laws that materially affect our lives and the economy on a purely progressive, partisan basis without even reading the content of the laws?
  • A Congress that views itself as a ruling class, rather than representing and serving the people?
  • A Congress and Administration who think they know what is best for you and make it clear they are not listening to your objections?
  • Legislators who act out their belief that airline rules do not apply to them as a ruling class?
  • A Congress that richly rewards itself with pay and benefits not available to private citizens – at your expense?
  • A Congress controlled by an environmental tyranny that puts the economy and our national security at risk with foolish energy policy?
  • A House Speaker who has the gall to proclaim to the American people that the Health Care Reform process was the most open and transparent she has ever seen?
  • A President who tells the American people that the Health Care Reform bill will reduce the deficit when any common sense citizen knows this is absurd?
  • A President who apologizes to foreign powers for American policy history, when the U.S. has done more to promote and preserve freedom and prosperity throughout the world than any nation in history…and thinks he speaks for the American people?
  • A President who gains office promising openness and transparency, and once in office demonstrates business as usual, Chicago style?
  • A government that, good intentions notwithstanding, ignores or defies the constitution including the separation of powers, to achieve politically progressive ends?
  • A Supreme Court that is now hostile to religion rather than protecting the First Amendment right of free expression of religion?
  • A progressive majority in congress dedicated to socialist government, seeking to regulate and control the lives of American citizens and transform the free enterprise system?
  • Subjugation of states rights through loose interpretation of the Interstate Commerce Clause, and blackmail (withholding federal funds) when states resist getting with the federal program?

If you have had enough of these and other issues, of the gradual, incremental destruction of your constitutional liberty, and of the “fundamental transformation” of our federal government to a ruling class of tyrants, what are you going to do about it?

If the political landscape seems overwhelming you could throw up your hands, focus on your own financial well-being and drop out to the point of abdicating your right and responsibility to vote on Election Day.

If your faith leads you to the conclusion that the end times are upon us, that things are only going to worsen before the Lord returns, you might feel that non-involvement is the right direction as you wait for the spiritual culmination of history.

In both cases the Founding Fathers could have taken the same passive posture. But they stood up and fought against a more insurmountable tyranny than ours. They pledged everything they had, their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to their quest for liberty. And if they believed they were facing the “end times,” they also recognized the biblical admonition to be good citizens who pursue justice, love mercy and walk humbly with their God (Micah 6:8).

Can the founding principles of government by, for and of the people be restored? If so, it will take the involvement and commitment of you and many others like you who believe that a political reformation is worth their efforts and prayers, even if pursued only by a minority like those who led the American Revolution.

Will you get involved? The stakes are huge, and goal is worth the risk and the effort.
